Animal House
Past and Present Animal Friends
A tribute to those we have loved and lost, and to the ones still with us. These are our beloved friends, ones that give unconditional love, and ask very little in return. We believe that when one of our special friends passes on, we should honor their life by giving a home to another homeless friend. That's why, over the years, we have had so many friends come into and out of our lives. Sin, died at 17 of Feline Leukemia; Midge, who gave us 17 wonderful years, Fred, Casper, Natasha,Whisper,  our beloved Aisha, whom we can never forget. She had, and still has a major part of our hearts. Aisha died October 1999, of septicimia. We still have a hard time talking about her. She was the light of our lives, and now that light has gone out. Wherever you are, Poo, we cry for you, and we love you.
It was in her memory we decided to volunteer to take photos of the dogs and cats at the Des Moines County Animal Shelter for the website, hoping that a few of the friends would find a home through the website. Lastly is Bogie, whom we lost October 30th of this year. Bogie was our "character." We mourn the passing of our dear
friend.

Chaya was born with a hole in her heart, but she doesn't seem to know it, she is lively and active.
Dakota is her litter mate, a sweet and beautiful cat. They were born July 22, 1999.
Whisper on the (left),  passed away last summer
of a "stroke", Natasha (on the right) was only a year old when
she contracted FIP and left us.

Chaya on the left; Sorscha on the right. She was born on St. Patrick's Day, just hours after our lovely Natasha died of FIP. She has had ringworm most of her life, and is quiet and sweet.

Shenandoah is a Lhasa
Apso/Maltese mix, a little grouch,
but our baby.

Midge and Fred, with Aisha in the center. Midget died at the age of 17 of Congestive heart failure, Fred died the following year of a heart attack. On the right is Mariah, or "big bad black dog". She was a Shelter Brat; we got her in February. She is now 1  year old!

This is Merlin, the newest addition to
the Wade Zoo. HIs name fits him,
he worked magic on all of us. Merlin
was found in a housing construction
area by our nephew, Scott, along with
a female calico. The female found a
good home, and as you can see, so
did Merlin!
